 What is Fundación Rayuela’s raison d’être?

We create cultural infrastructure projects for children and young people in the state of Morelos.

 

How does Fundación Rayuela benefit the communities where it exists?

It provides the appropriate spaces for the artistic and cultural activities that enhance the quality of life of its inhabitants.

 

How many people benefit from Fundación Rayuela‘s projects?

The centers that have been expressly built or that have been partially or totally equipped for this purpose comprise the following number of persons who benefit monthly from their activities:

“La Vecindad” Children’s Cultural Center in Cuernavaca: 380

“Fundación Rayuela” Regional Cultural Center in Ocuituco: 500

“El Aguaje” community unit in the Emiliano Zapata municipal district : 250

“Teresita Ballesteros” Library in Coatetelco, Miacatlán municipal district: 250

 

Who are the principal beneficiaries?

Mainly children and young people, but in general the installations are also used by participants such as parents and senior citizens, which contributes to strengthening ties with the community.

Can I visit the centers supported by Fundación Rayuela?

How does Fundación Rayuela decide on its projects?

Our organization conducts a pertinence and viability diagnosis on the project’s sustainability.

Do you participate in joint investment projects with the local and Federal authorities? 

Yes. There are federal funds (Conaculta, Sedesol, etc.) earmarked for our activities as a complement to certain local government projects, which necessarily involve the entire community.

 

Can I submit a project to Fundación Rayuela?

Fundación Rayuela is open to proposals that are in keeping with its primary objective.  In order to do so, you must submit a substantiated diagnosis that will be subsequently analyzed by our Board.

 

DONORS

Who are Fundación Rayuela’s principal donors?

Private corporations, indirect financing and private donors.

 

Does my donation make a difference?

Every contribution, no matter how small, brings us closer to the primary goal of our large, medium and small donors: providing arts education to vulnerable, low-income communities who otherwise would have no access to these activities.

 

If I make a donation, will my name appear in your printed and virtual publications or on a plaque?

Although we believe it is important to publicly acknowledge the generosity of our donors, we also respect their desire to remain anonymous if they so request.

 

DONATIONS

What is the minimum acceptable donation?

Even one peso is welcome.

 

What type of in-kind donations does Fundación Rayuela require?

Building materials

Books in Spanish, in good condition (except for textbooks)

Musical instruments, music stands, scores

Material for the visual arts

In general, any material or equipment, either new or in perfect condition, for use in our centers’ different workshops

In what areas can I earmark my donation?

Infrastructure construction, equipment and supplies for the centers we support, program supervision and operations.

 

Can I choose the specific project or entry for my donation?

Of course. Our Website includes information on the centers we have assisted and on those we are currently supporting.

 

Will my donation be used to cover the Foundation’s operating costs?

Fundación Rayuela has a separate fund-raising program to cover the operating costs required for the organization’s administrative functions.

 

How can I be sure that my donation will be applied in a transparent manner? 

Since November 2010, Fundación Rayuela has received the highest level of institutionality and transparency from the Cenefi (Centro Mexicano para la Filantropía A.C) a non-profit, private philanthropy-oriented organization. This distinction is palpable proof that we fulfill our legal and fiscal obligations, of our transparency in the use of our resources and of the efficient, sustainable infrastructure that enables us to carry out our mission.

 

DEDUCTIBILITY

What is the minimum amount required for obtaining a tax-deductible receipt?

Any amount can be applied.

 

If I file my income tax return abroad, is my tax-deductible receipt from Fundación Rayuela still valid?

Yes.

 

Can I obtain a tax-deductible receipt for an in-kind donation?

Yes, if you stipulate the item or service and the amount donated, although the receipt will be issued in zeros.

 

Do you issue electronic receipts?

Yes, as of January 1, 2011.

 

FUNDACIÓN RAYUELA’S ANNUAL ART AND ANTIQUES AUCTION

What can I donate to Fundación Rayuela’s Annual Art Auction?

Works of art, antiques, jewelry, trips and any product or service that can be auctioned, subject to the approval of the Selection committee.

VOLUNTEER WORK

Can I be a Fundación Rayuela volunteer?

We are always in need of volunteers willing to conduct workshops and training programs in the different artistic disciplines.

 

As a student, can I complete out my Social Service requirement at Fundación Rayuela?

Students in their last two semesters are welcome, subject to the corresponding agreement with their institution and provided they are majoring in such fields as communications, marketing, art, design, sociology, computer science or the humanities.
