Conaculta endorses agreement for open forum in Ocuituco


On September 9 at Rayuela’s Foundation headquarters an agreement was signed that formalized the federal government’s contribution through Conaculta. This work is done with the participation of the municipality of Ocuituco and participation of civil society through our organization, who is responsible for maintaining the works.

“This image depicts the fantasy, magic and poetry in the sun’s rays and in the outlines of the trees,” declared Nadine Markova, head of the judges’ panel for Coatetelco’s First Amateur Photography Contest in the municipal district of Miacatlán, Morelos. The celebrated photographer, delighted at the contestants’ indisputable talent, immediately asked, “Where is this magical place?” when reviewing the winning photograph entitled Un atardecer más, un día menos (One more sunset, one day less).

Core musical instruction program in Ocuituco

The Fundación Rayuela Regional Cultural Center in Ocuituco has set up two musical instruction units — a chorus and a musical band –for children between 7 and 16.  The courses that have distinguished this center form part of a highly effective music curriculum, which, whenever applied, has produced excellent results in every single core group throughout the state.

The Coatetelco Library announces its amateur photography contest

The Coatetelco Library announces its amateur photography contest whose theme “Images of my home town” may include landscapes, daily life, customs, celebrations and family.  The deadline for submitting your work is November 4. Fundación Rayuela will award $1,000 pesos for the best photograph.

The Teresita Ballesteros Library in Coatetelco fosters a love of reading among young people

In view of the low attendance at the library, especially among young people, Fundación Rayuela hired Diana Octaviano, an enthusiastic local promoter of good reading habits, to start a special reading program.  It includes book clubs, reading and discussion groups, competitions and activities associated with local and regional festivities, all aimed at attracting children and young people to the wonderful world of books.

The first semester of this program, focused on the enriching power of music, which also cultivates positive values in children and adolescents, began in August.  So far, 80 students between the ages of 7 and 16 have enrolled in this program.
